NOT ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS.
Life is hard. And wonderful and beautiful and joyful.
Sometimes the “hard” gets in the way of our experiencing the many positives life has to offer. Therapy can help.
My name is Amy, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. It is my privilege to make space for your many emotions as you deal with the “hard.” I provide a nonjudgmental, compassionate presence where you can share openly about your journey, process emotions, and explore strengths you may have forgotten you have. I come to private practice following more than 20 years with hospice. I have extensive experience supporting people through life’s difficulties, including grief/loss, life transitions, adjustment, anxiety, and depression. I use evidence-based approaches customized to your specific situation and needs.
I believe in your ability to heal. You have within you the capacity to live a more contented life. Together, we will identify goals and explore what gives your life meaning. If desired, we will draw from your spiritual/religious perspective. I recognize one’s faith background can be a source of great comfort and, sometimes, great pain. I have training in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) and work with clients of all faiths and no faith. My goal is to give you the support and tools you need to move forward and build resilience for the future.
I earned my Master of Social Work in 2000 at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I also received my undergraduate degree. I am married and have three young adult children.
